About this service
In a suspected heart attack every minute counts. Our cardiac care ambulance is set up to monitor the heart and respond to rhythm problems on the way to a cardiac centre.
The vehicle carries an ECG monitor, a defibrillator, oxygen and emergency cardiac medicines. We head for the nearest hospital with a cath lab unless you ask for a specific one, and can alert the hospital that a cardiac patient is on the way.
